The Ontario Student Debating Union (OSDU) is dedicated to helping middle and high school students develop their public speaking and critical thinking skills. It is also a place for students to engage in debate on important issues of our times.

How to Start a Debate Club

To begin a debate club in your school, consider asking a teacher who may be interested in debating.  If he or she agrees, the teacher could lead the club or simply agree to supervise. Whether you or the teacher leads,  you will need some resources that can help you along the way. Please click the button for some first steps on how to begin a debate club.
